It’s a place I come to often, so don’t usually bring a story, but it is still a walk in my plan. It’s also a fabulous park to bring your dog for a free run. No leashes required for most of the park.
I’ve done 1, 2, 3 and 4 km walks in this park, depending on my energy and time. To do the longer walk, you have to go across the creek that hems in most of the dog portion of the park. You are not technically allowed to be over there, and I swear I only go to see what all those other people are doing over there. Luckily, after I have investigated the activity, discovering a wonderful, treed path to wander along, I can always get back across the water via one of two bridges in the main part of the park. Joking aside, though, that end of the park is on-leash. We don’t want to make non-dog owners wish we weren’t there.
This is one of the few dog parks where you see humans without dogs. Of course, there is also a soccer field and a baseball diamond in the park. Check it out. It’s on Lagimodiere Blvd, just after Springfield Rd, and before the Perimeter.
